Net Jam 2006

Chaos A and German A faced each other in the final match of "The War of the Worlds" this past Saturday.  It was a rematch of the semifinals from the 2005 World Championships.  Germany came out on top once again as Flo and Patti remained cool while facing a furious comeback attempt by PT and John in game 3.  It was a great match and an awesome weekend of net action and partying.

The highlight of the weekend may have been the jam on day 2, Sunday, when official competition took a back seat to pick-up games.  Many players got a chance to throw it down with people they’ve never had a chance to team with or play against.

A BIG thanks to the city of Oakland; to the Chaos crew who contributed in every way possible - mopping the floor, providing food and drink, mixing the palomas; to all the players, especially those who traveled so far; and finally to those who came out to cheer and party with us.  We think the weekend was a big success and we’ll likely host an event like this next year.  We’ll keep you posted.

War of the Worlds

Germany InvadesUSA VS Germany! Chaos VS NPR! Is it a surprise attack on Chaos’ home turf? What the f#@*! is going on? It’s only January for cryin out loud! Still, German reinforcements arrive in the form of one Florian Goetze on February 9th and Chaos will greet him with a weekend of net action on February 18th and 19th.

Chaos will also host team NPR members Dr Fly High, aka David Bernard, and Chris ‘Conan’ Seibert.

The are too many story lines to follow here with the brewing Chaos/NPR rivalry and a potential pre-season rematch of the World Semi-Final match between Chaos A and German A looming.

Let the trash talk begin and may it be backed by stellar play on the court!

Turnier für den Deutschen

Dr Keehan oversees the beginning of Patti, Joanna, and Carine's tequila studies Chaos officially welcomed Berlin’s Patrick Schrickel to town this past weekend by hosting a mini tournament in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, CA. Patrick arrived from Berlin, Germany last week and will be training with team Chaos until late February. Patrick teamed with Chaos #4 - John Leys, and they finished in 2nd place at the event. Afterwards, Patti had this to say…

Translation - ‘Da BEARs!’.

Needless to say, he’s staying with El Presidente, Chaos #3 - PT Lovern, whilst in the US.

In other noteworthy happenings, there is no off-season for Chaos.  Check out our events page - we have an open indoor kick two nights per week over the winter months, another German may be paying us a visit this winter, and plans for the latest installment of “The Green Cup” - presented by Chaos, are shaping up nicely.  Furthermore, rumors are circulating that Chaos may be road trippin for the NPR bounty in January.  Perhaps NPR will return the favor - a little Chaos home cookin in late February when we host our second German quest of the winter season?

Stay tuned.

Jousting On The Forum

John crushes Wulffy - photoshop or reality?  You decide.Chaos VS NPR?  Europe VS USA?  Two parts trash talk and one part philosophy - A few net enthusiasts representing NPR, Chaos, and other net hotbeds from Canada to Russia debate the merits of breaking the plane.  Check it out on the forum at fw (portal to a world that revolves around footbag).

What do you think?  Is breaking the plane good or bad for the game?

Also, why didn’t Wulffy just continue this ridiculous debate by posting on the original thread?  What a jerk!  Perhaps he’s just afraid of exposing himself via those pics Bob got documenting his queen-ness.
