History

ten lbs ago... ok twenty The Chaos Footbag Club was founded in the fall of 1995 as a sports club of the Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. The club grew to as many as 30 active members and hosted 6 collegiate events between the years of 1995-98. During this period Chaos traveled to 3 consecutive World Footbag Championships as well as footbag tournaments at Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA; and in Portland, OR; Baltimore, MD; Montreal, Quebec, Canada; and Vancouver, BC, Canada.

Now how about that! There's some nice verbiage for ya my fine footbag friend. Takes up space AND keeps you glued to this tube, or lcd, plasma - whatever. Anyway, don't think of moving on just yet because there's more...

In the spring of 1998 P.T. Lovern, the club's President, moved from the cold weather of Chicago, IL to warmth of the Bay Area in Northern California. He helped motivate some Midwest members of Chaos to join him while recruiting local players to the organization. Since then, Chaos has lost nearly every original cold weathered member except 'El Presidente' himself. But, heed this our most attentive and dedicated footbag historian... no need to fret, for Chaos withstood the mass exodus and is a stronger team today (precisely 18:45 PST on Friday June 10th, 2005) than ever before. For we have attended 6 consecutive World Footbag Championships in our new incarnation and won our first World Championship in 2004 when Chaos #3 and #4, PT Lovern and John Leys (respectively), won the Open Doubles Net title at the WFC in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Now, surely you realize that time stops for no-one nor no footbag team, and in so realizing you can be sure that Chaos history unfolds this very moment. So come back and virtually visit us often and you're sure to be well schooled in footbag net lore.
